To promote education and active citizen involvement in politics.
It is our belief that most of the corrupting influences in American Politics could be erased and government made more responsive by one basic improvement. That is, simply for more good citizens to participate in politics. "We get the government we deserve, not the one we wish for," remains a guide-star for a free people. We offer a meaningful movement of political clubs as the most practical means by which a broad citizen participation in politics may be achieved.
Join us on March 21st at Cat's Pourhouse, 147 S. Tiffany Dr. in Pueblo West, as we welcome Allen Aubert, representing Convention of States Action, to the Pueblo Pachyderm Club.
The Legislation that the Convention of States Action is requesting is "limited to proposing amendments to the Constitution of the United States that impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and limit the terms of office for its officials and for members of Congress."
Allen Aubert was born and raised in the Midwest. He attended Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago.
In 1972 he moved to Pueblo and started practicing. He founded and retired from Family Eye Center in Pueblo and Pueblo West. Allen is married to Diane and has five children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He has served on several local boards and in various offices, including as President of the Colorado Optometric Association.
Allen was the first president of Pueblo Pachyderms in the early 1980s.
Join us for the November 15th luncheon at CaT's Pourhouse, 147 Tiffany Dr., Pueblo West, CO.
You can check in around 11:15 AM, with a buffet lunch at 11:30. Lunch costs $16, but if you want to hear the speaker, you are welcome to join us without lunch. At 11:30 a.m., we begin with an opening prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by any club announcements, and then proceed with lunch.
Join us on March 21st and bring a friend.
