To promote education and active citizen involvement in politics.
It is our belief that most of the corrupting influences in American Politics could be erased and government made more responsive by one basic improvement. That is, simply for more good citizens to participate in politics. "We get the government we deserve, not the one we wish for," remains a guide-star for a free people. We offer a meaningful movement of political clubs as the most practical means by which a broad citizen participation in politics may be achieved.
Join us on May 17th at Cat's Pourhouse, 147 S. Tiffany in Pueblo West, as Ray Scott, running for the CD 3 seat on the CU Board of Regents, addresses the Pueblo Pachyderm Club.
Lunch costs $16, and you can check in as early as 11:15 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., we begin with an opening prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by any club announcements and then proceed with lunch.
Ray Scott is running for the University of Colorado Board of Regents to represent Congressional District 3.
The University of Colorado Board of Regents is a volunteer position with no annual pay. Yet, it’s been a part of Colorado’s Constitution since our state’s admission to the Union in 1876.
Ray is a former Colorado State Legislator and businessman. He was born in Ohio and grew up in Rifle, Colorado. Working on farms and ranches with his family was key to his understanding of just how important individual freedom and hard work can be in shaping a desire to serve others and instilling principles and values.
Scott then began working in the energy industry in Colorado and New Mexico. Eventually, he achieved his desire to own his own business and founded several businesses in the energy sector, land development, logistics, sports, software, and construction. His businesses were either successful, on the one hand, or presented great learning opportunities, on the other.
Mr. Scott served consecutive terms as a Colorado State representative in separate districts from 2011 to 2015. He then won election as a State Senator and served there from 2015 to 2023.
At the State Capitol, Senator Scott worked to reduce job-killing regulations, opposed new taxes on Colorado’s middle-class families, and fought to prioritize funding for infrastructure projects that served the people.
Senator Scott has been a steadfast defender of the people of Colorado against the far-left progressive policy that hurt Coloradoans.
Now, Mr. Scott doesn't spend all his time working. He also enjoys hunting, fly fishing, and spending time on his farm with family and friends.
Join us on May 17th as we meet and hear from Senator Ray Scott, a candidate for the CU Board of Regents, representing Congressional District 3. Bring a friend.
